Bond and REEF partner to create on-demand, last-mile delivery experience

MIAMI, FL (July 22, 2020) — Bond, the post-purchase company is partnering with REEF Technology, the largest operator of parking, mobility, and logistics hubs in North America, to launch a last-mile delivery solution that will enable direct to consumer brands to store products in 500 square foot nano-warehouses for same-day or overnight delivery via electric-cargo tricycles.
Leveraging REEF’s network of neighborhood logistics and mobility hubs the service will be immediately available for brands using Bond delivery in New York City and Philadelphia, with plans to expand to Miami, Washington D.C, and San Francisco in the coming months.
With more than half of the US population now ordering basic and non-essential items online, this partnership provides an opportunity to not only deliver a delightful and transparent user experience but also helps to overcome some of the growing challenges facing delivery providers such as traffic congestion and shipping delays caused by the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Prior to the coronavirus pandemic, more than 1.5 million packages were entering New York City alone on a daily basis and chaos was everywhere. Mountains of packages were piling up, and trucks and other vehicles were causing an increase in traffic jams and pollution. Now, delays and delivery uncertainties brought on by the outbreak are compounding the issue. Consumers who are used to receiving packages same-day or in two days are now waiting weeks for their orders,” said Asaf Hachmon, CEO and co-founder, Bond. “We’ve built a new kind of post purchase experience based on our technology infrastructure and our partners’ – top direct-to-consumer brands’– needs, creating a better experience for consumers, brands, and the cities they’re delivering to. Customers can see where their package is from the moment they’ve placed it until it arrives, and can chat with a Bond delivery person through the entire process.”
“We’re excited for this partnership with REEF,” said Hachmon. “By leveraging their digital platform coupled with their parking facilities and logistical hubs to house our nano distribution centers, we can meet more consumers where they are. Now, more people living in high density cities can enjoy same-day and overnight delivery at a time when speed is no longer the norm.”
REEF’s mission is to build the ecosystem that connects the world to your block. By leveraging the power of proximity, REEF is reimagining parking facilities by creating last-block mobility and logistical hubs that serve the needs of cities, residents and businesses. REEF manages the hubs that will serve as the home base for Bond’s micro-warehouses
“We are excited to be partnering with Bond to enable a last-block delivery solution that helps tackle some of the industry’s largest challenges,” said George Fallica, Chief Revenue Officer at REEF Technology. “REEF was founded on the idea that by leveraging the power of proximity we can keep our communities moving forward in a sustainable and thoughtful way and we are excited to see that vision take shape in our work with Bond.”
