REEF’s Neighborhood Kitchens Is Bringing Pok Pok’s Famous Ike’s Vietnamese Fish Sauce Wings to Delivery in Portland, with All Proceeds Benefiting the Immigrant Legal Resource Center
WHAT:A culinary staple in the Portland region for over a decade, Pok Pok was forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic, yet 3,200 lbs. of unsold chicken wing inventory presented an opportunity to do good in the community. Through REEF’s Neighborhood Kitchens network, Chef Andy Ricker is able to bring back the restaurant’s staple Ike’s Vietnamese Fish Sauce Wings to Portland fans while supporting those that have been deeply impacted by the pandemic. All proceeds from sales will be donated to the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
For this limited-time partnership, Ike’s Vietnamese Fish Sauce wings will be prepared by REEF in local Neighborhood Kitchens and will be available through food delivery platforms starting September 22.
WHO:Andy Ricker, the James Beard Award-winning chef and owner of Pok Pok Restaurants, is partnering with REEF to make Pok Pok’s famous Fish Sauce wings available for delivery. Pok Pok strives to create a strong sense of place through mindful reproduction of the food and food culture of Thailand and Southeast Asia.
REEF Kitchens is a national network of Neighborhood Kitchens that enable food entrepreneurs, local restaurants, and national restaurant brands to open and quickly expand their delivery businesses. REEF lowers the barriers, costs, and burdens for restaurants and help bring fresh, healthy food to local neighborhoods.
WHY:Chef Andy Ricker chose to partner with REEF in Portland to make Ike’s Vietnamese Fish Sauce Wings available for delivery while also supporting the people who form the backbone of Portland’s restaurant community via a donation to the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, a national nonprofit that works with immigrants, community organizations, legal professionals, and policy makers to build a democratic society that values diversity and the rights of all people.
